Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 8 October 2026

This page explains, without euphemism, where the money behind this site comes from. It is written so that you can read the five-step course knowing exactly what commercial interest sits behind it.

The arrangement

Solid Facet is published by MTTrader Pro s.r.o. Several pages of the course link to the website of War Thunder. Those links are paid affiliate links. When a reader follows one and completes the action the programme pays for — registering an account, confirming the email address and signing in — the affiliate network that operates the link records the referral and pays MTTrader Pro s.r.o. a commission.

Three consequences are worth stating plainly. Your cost is unchanged. The commission comes out of the vendor's own marketing budget; nothing is added to any amount you might later spend. You never have to use a link. Every step and every checklist is complete without it, and the course withholds nothing from a reader who reaches the vendor another way. This is the site's only income. There is no display advertising, no sponsorship, no paid placement and no paid review.

Where the links appear

  • On the homepage, in the section explaining where War Thunder appears in the course and why.
  • In Step 1, where the game is introduced as the course's worked example.
  • In Step 2, beside the note that the vendor's own page carries the current system requirements.
  • In Step 3, beside the note that the vendor's own terms and privacy notice are the documents to read.
  • In Step 4, beside the registration procedure.
  • In Step 5, at the end of the long-run habits.

Each carries a short note immediately beneath it saying that it is a paid link. Every such link opens in a new tab and is marked for search engines as sponsored, the standard way of declaring a paid link so that it passes no ranking credit. Links to Australian government bodies, operating system documentation and our own pages earn us nothing.

What the commission does not decide

It does not decide what the course says: no step has been written, reordered or softened because of it, and no checklist item exists to move you towards a purchase. It does not decide which products are mentioned — War Thunder is the one commercial product named anywhere on this site, and it is named as an example of a category, not as a recommendation. It does not buy a verdict: you will not find us calling it the best, the safest or the most popular choice, because we have not tested it. And it does not buy a claim: the only facts we state about it are those the vendor's description actually contains.

What does decide the content

The five steps are ordered by the sequence in which a beginner meets each obstacle, as explained on the About page under our editorial method. What goes into a step is decided by three sources: Australian government material for rights, classifications, privacy and scams; operating system makers' documentation for hardware and installation; and a vendor's own published statements for a specific product. If a question cannot be answered from one of those, the course says so or leaves it out.

The practical test we apply to every page is simple: if the affiliate link were deleted tomorrow, would the page still be worth reading? If the answer were no, the page would be advertising, and we would rewrite it.

Data, and what we can see

We cannot see who follows a link. The network sends us a report of counts and amounts, used only to reconcile payments; we do not ask for, and do not receive, anything identifying an individual reader. Once you select a paid link you are on another company's site, where that company and the network may use cookies on their own domains to attribute the referral. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy set out what this site does, which is to set no cookies at all.

Trademarks

All brand names on Solid Facet, War Thunder among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Solid Facet, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.

Questions and complaints

If you think a link is inadequately disclosed, or that a step reads like advertising, write to info@solidfacet.online and tell us which page. Misleading or deceptive conduct by a business is prohibited under the Australian Consumer Law and enforced by the ACCC, and that avenue is open to you regardless of what we say in reply.
